40th Week

Life in Bloom

Welcome To Week 40!

You have reached your official due date milestone! Your body works overtime adapting to maximum physical capacity, prompting your uterus and pelvic joints to fully loosen as you stay highly alert for immediate labor signs like the amniotic sac rupturing.

  • Your baby weighs nearly 3.5 kg and measures approximately 51cm from head to toe.
  • The baby’s skull bones are intentionally not yet fused to stay flexible enough to navigate the birth canal.
  • Full physical preparation is complete, leaving the baby fully ready to thrive outside the womb.
  • About 10% to 15% of births this week may seamlessly utilize vacuum or forceps assistance to safely guide the baby out.
  • Baby is about the size of a small pumpkin.
