Pregnancy Week by Week

22nd Week

Beyond the Beginning, Into a World of Growth

Welcome To Week 22!

Your baby can now hear and recognize your voice daily. Your body works overtime expanding your abdomen and breasts, which can trigger common skin changes like acne or dryness, alongside normal “pregnancy brain” forgetfulness.

  • Your baby weighs approximately 430 grams and measures about 27.8cm from head to toe.
  • The baby looks exactly like a tiny infant, with well-developed lips, eyelids, and eyebrows.
  • Tooth buds are forming deep within the gums, and the pancreas is developing to produce essential hormones.
  • Fine hair (lanugo) covers the body, and wrinkles remain on the skin until body fat deposits increase.
  • Baby is about the size of a papaya.
