Pregnancy Week by Week

37th Week

Every Week, A New Milestone

Welcome To Week 37!

You have officially reached early term status. Your body works overtime preparing your cervix to naturally thin out and dilate, which commonly triggers rhythmic uterine tightening contractions, pelvic pressure, lower abdominal discomfort, or intense leg cramps.

  • Your baby weighs approximately 2.850 kg and measures roughly 50cm from head to toe.
  • The lungs and brain are finishing final maturation stages to ensure a seamless transition outside.
  • Approximately 80% of babies are born between this week and week 42, with only 5% arriving exactly on their due date.
  • Passing through the birth canal will help clear remaining fluid from the baby’s developing lungs.
  • Baby is about the size of a winter melon.
