Small Beginnings, Remarkable Milestones

Welcome To Week 17!

Your baby’s hearing is now well-developed and they can hear your voice and music. Your body works overtime as your center of gravity shifts with your growing abdomen, which can cause balance changes, heartburn, or indigestion.

  • Your baby measures about 13cm from crown to rump and weighs approximately 140 grams.
  • The baby’s body starts producing fat, which helps regulate their body temperature.
  • The ears are fully functional, and the skeletal structure is turning from soft cartilage into bone.
  • The umbilical cord is growing thicker, joints can stretch, and sweat glands are developing.
  • Baby is about the size of a pear.
